Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to multiple items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
