The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
